I love oldies. My mom would always listen to the “oldies but goodies” station when I was younger and I remember loving the songs and singing along with her in the car. Good times. Here’s a good one that wad just on the radio, “If you wanna be happy” by Jimmy Soul. Love it.
Lyrics If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you. A pretty woman makes her husband look small and very often causes his downfall. As soon as he marries her, then the starts to do the things that will break his heart. But if you make an ugly woman your wife, you’ll be happy for the rest of your life. An ugly woman cooks her meals on time, she’ll always give you peace of mind. Don’t let your friends say you have no taste, go ahead and marry anyway. Though her face Is ugly, her eyes don’t match, take it from me, she’s a better catch. Say man, Hey baby. Lol I only remembered the chorus, so when I read the rest of the lyrics, I just couldn’t help but laugh. Oldies are awesome. Now I am listening to “(Sittin’ on) The dock of the bay”. <3
Sustainability isn’t about the quick fix or the cheap solution. Generally it means making a commitment and trying, as best we can, to honor it. In any worthwhile enterprise, from protecting the environment to preserving a relationship, we are going to encounter difficulties. The good life is not a problem-free life. In point of fact, the process of overcoming adversity often produces some of the most rewarding experiences we will ever have. Human beings need to be challenged to ‘test their mettle,’ as it were. Throwing in the towel at the first sign of trouble or small inkling of distress may be the easy thing to do, but it doesn’t help our self-concept. Most of life’s troubles can be overcome if we are willing to work through them with patience.

Let me tell you the mean story. For years and years, I convinced myself that I was unbreakable, an animal with an animal strength or something not human at all. Me, I told people, I take damage like a wall, a brick wall that never falls down, never feels anything, never flinches or remembers. Take one story, follow it through, beginning, middle, end. I don’t do that. I never do. Behind the story I tell is the one I don’t. Behind the story you hear is the one I wish I could make you hear. Behind my carefully buttoned collar is my nakedness, the struggle to find clean clothes, food, meaning, and money. Behind sex is rage, behind anger is love, behind this moment is silence, years of silence.
